Knowledge in the Digital Age - The New Theme of the NetIAS Lecture Series

In the beginning of June 2020, the European Network of Institutes for Advanced Study (NetIAS),
of which SCAS was a founding member in 2004, launched the joint project “The European NetIAS
Lecture Series.” The lectures – held via Zoom - are delivered by renowned scholars from the diffe-
rent member institutes and welcome everyone interested in the research conducted at the institutes
and interested in timely discussions. The first year saw a string of lectures on the overarching theme
Borders
. In the academic year 2021-22, the New Europe College - Institute for Advanced Study,
Bucharest, is the coordinating host of the lecture series. This time, the theme is Knowledge in the
Digital Age.

The lectures are usually held every last Thursday of the month. Due to the winter holidays, however,
the upcoming December lecture will be given on the second Thursday of the month instead, namely
on the 16th of December. Lino Camprubí, Ramón y Cajal Researcher, Universidad de Sevilla and Fellow,
Institut d'études avancées d'Aix-Marseille Université, will then speak on the topic Knowing the Earth in
the Digital Era

In the upcoming spring, five additional lectures will take place. Please download the full programme below.
